BIG publishes equality reports for Northern Ireland in line with our legal duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, and to communicate important developments in our equality work.
Northern Ireland Equality Scheme 2007- 2012
The scheme sets out how we will comply with our legal duties under Section 75 of the NI Act 1998. The final scheme was published in May 2008 and disseminated to staff and stakeholders.

BIG received notification to develop a revised equality scheme from the Equality Commission for NI on 1 August 2011. Further developments regarding this development process will be added to this website in the coming months.
Northern Ireland Disability Action Plan 2007-2012
This plan sets out how we will comply with the Disability Discrimination (NI) Order 2006. The NI plan is complementary to our UK wide Joint Equality Scheme (Race, Disability & Gender). The NI plan is reviewed and updated annually, findings are available below.

Screening
We publish annual screening reports that set out the findings of our equality assurance review. BIG published its 7 screening report in September 2011, detailing all programmes, policies and procedures that were equality assured from June 2010 – May 2011.

Annual Report to the Equality Commission
As a designated public body under Section 75 of the NI Act 1998, BIG annual reports to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland on our equality compliance over the past financial year. BIG’s Annual Report to the Equality Commission for the financial year 1 April 2010- 31 March 2011 received sign-off by our Chief Executive and forwarded to the Equality Commission at the end of August 2011. This report is now publicly available online for comment.
